Morė Linen Jacket

The inspiration for the jacket is Morė—the effigy burned during the Užgavėnės festival to scare away winter and hasten the arrival of spring.
Here, I wanted to create a garment that reflects Lithuanian traditions and seasonality—specifically spring and summer. The edges of the linen fabric were frayed and dyed to create a raw, harsh appearance. In this way, I invite not only the banishment of winter, but also of unpleasant emotions—to feel spring and summer more deeply and freely.
